Our May 9th Get-Together

Marty and Irene Blair, Barbara and Darrell Stidham, Larry and Betty Britton, Alice Collier and her sister Tommie, Billy Joe Hall, Judy and Carlos Brown, Wanda and James Reynolds, Nita and Garold Sowder, Sue and Bill Kiser, Raymond and Joyce Thomas, Joe and Betty Gentry, Sarah and Bob Unterreiner, Ken and Pat Collins, Lily Jane McCraven had a good time together at General Butler State Park in Carrolton, KY. During the visit, Pat Franklin Stallard called and talked to several of us. The food was delicious at the lodge – especially the banana pudding!

Since our last get-together, Nita has discovered that it took Larry, the roving reporter, 32 phone calls to verify that we did have swimming available on the senior trip. And those who were brave enough (or foolish enough) could rent a swimsuit for 50¢ - this was before strict enforcement of health and safety issues!!!

A major discussion was held on who marched with whom at graduation. Some memories are better than others. A line-up was based on height – not the alphabet or friendships – we remembered.

And who remembers their foot-long hot dog? Did you get it at Fernoy’s? With mustard, chili and onions? Do you remember going to the city, ordering a hot dog and being surprised because there wasn’t any chili on it? You found out soon that was a chili dog or maybe a coney?

Keep James Reynolds, Rosemary Collier, Kelly Boggs, and Irene Bates in your thoughts and prayers.
