Another Military Heard From

I enlisted in the army in September 1958. My goal was to be stationed in Europe. The only sure way to get there was armor ( tanks) training. So after basic training in Missouri and armor training at Fort Knox the next stop was Germany. I had no idea of what the country would be like. Over the next four years I saw a lot of Europe and learned to speak German. I was there during the Berlin blockade and the Cuban incident. My intention was to make career in the army. September 1962 I was promoted to S/SgtE-6. So far everything seems to be going much better than expected. Life was good. In February 1963 ex rays confirmed that one my lungs had a problem. It was major setback as far I was concerned. Life has A way letting us know to be thankful for both good and bad. My career ended in November 1963. I was very proud to have served my country. Many thanks to all my other classmates who served. May God bless class of 58. Marion Sexton
